Traditional Egalitarian Minyan

The Traditional Egalitarian Minyan meets on Rosh Chodesh at 7:30 am in the International Lounge in Usdan.  Those who are interested on an occasional or regular basis should sign up for the weekday minyan listserv.

On Shabbat, we meet in Berlin Chapel for Friday Mincha (afternoon) and Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv services. The times vary with sunset throughout the year and can generally be found by reading the latest Shabbat announcements (found here). On Shabbat morning, Shacharit begins at 9 am in Berlin Chapel. A member of the community usually sponsors a Kiddush, held before Torah reading.  The Traditional Egalitarian Minyan does a full Torah reading and full repetitions of the Amidah (silent prayer) in both Shacharit and Mussaf.  Times for Mincha can be found on the Shabbat announcements page as well. Mincha is followed by Seudah Shlishit (the traditional "third meal") and singing in the chapel, then Maariv and Havdalah.

If you would like to help lead part of a service, or read Torah or Haftarah or would like to learn how to do either of those, contact the Gabbaim.

The Beverly Hills Chabad has a very useful online tikkun that differs significantly from most in that it's merely a series of pages scanned from the "regular" tikkun and posted online, accessible here.  When you go to that page, click the name of the portion for which you are practicing and then click on the "A" and "B" (vowels and non-vowels) pages until you find the correct one for your aliya.  Then you can paste those image files into MSPaint or some other jpeg-editing software and delete the lines you don't need. This way, any aliya shorter than a full column can be printed on a single page, even if it was spread across two in the book. Very useful!

A simpler version of the same thing.
